Course Description – Dawley Institute of Technology
The Scaffolder Course at Dawley Institute of Technology is a complete twelve-week program designed to help students build strong skills in scaffolding. This course covers all key areas, including scaffold assembly, dismantling, and safety, preparing students for real construction site work.
At the beginning, students are introduced to important tools, materials, and safety procedures used in scaffolding. They will also learn how to read scaffolding drawings and understand basic design principles, including load-bearing capacity.
In the early weeks, students will focus on basic scaffold assembly. They will learn how to select and install components such as tubes, couplers, and boards. Students will also gain hands-on experience with different types of scaffolding systems, including frame, modular, and suspended scaffolds.
As the course continues, students will learn advanced scaffolding techniques, including working on complex structures and challenging environments. This includes scaffolding on uneven surfaces, high-rise buildings, and applying advanced safety measures.
Midway through the course, students will study scaffold inspection and maintenance. They will learn how to check structures for safety, identify risks, and perform necessary repairs to meet industry standards.
Towards the end, students will complete practical tasks where they design, assemble, and dismantle scaffolding systems in real-world conditions. This helps them apply their skills in practical situations.
The course ends with a final assessment where students demonstrate their ability to plan, execute, and manage scaffolding projects professionally.
