Course Description – Dawley Institute of Technology
The Tile Fixer course at Dawley Institute of Technology is a complete twelve-week program designed to help students build strong skills in the tiling industry. This course covers everything from basic knowledge to advanced tile installation techniques.
At the start, students are introduced to important tools and materials used in tile fixing, including different types of tiles, adhesives, and grout. They will also learn how to prepare surfaces properly and ensure they are level and ready for tile installation.
In the early weeks, students will focus on basic tiling skills such as measuring, cutting, and installing tiles in simple patterns. They will get hands-on experience working with ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles, and learn how to use tools like tile cutters, trowels, and spacers correctly.
As the course continues, students will learn advanced techniques such as creating complex patterns, mosaic designs, and working on difficult surfaces like curved walls and floors. They will also understand waterproofing methods for areas like bathrooms and kitchens to ensure long-lasting results.
